The “popping” or “cracking” noise is simply the gas pockets within the joints that may pop during a manual adjustment. Your bones are not cracking or rubbing when you hear this. If you dislike the noise or feeling of a manual adjustment, our chiropractor can use alternative techniques to suit your preferences.
The number of treatments required depends on the severity of the problem, how long the patient has been suffering and the possible cause of the problem. Each individual is different and recovery time differs from person to person. Each patient will be individually assessed and an appropriate management plan will be discussed – including how long it may take to recover.
There is an option for those who are suffering from chronic conditions to have up to 5 treatments covered by Medicare. This program is called the Enhanced Primary Care Program (EPC Program). No. Not even your chiropractor can correctly assess and adjust themselves. “Popping” or “cracking” your own spine is never a good idea. Chiropractors spend many years training and developing skills to find dysfunctional areas of the spine to adjust. Many people develop habits of self adjusting their spine daily, which can do more harm than good.
